This I Believe...

I believe in honesty because it is nice to tell the truth and not lie.
I believe in respect because when you're speaking wouldn't you like it if they listened to you.
I believe in creativity because that's what makes everything.
I believe in dedication because volunteering helps everyone in the community.
I believe in cooperation because without that there wouldn't be a lot of things and it is good to get along.

Special Event

I learned that things don't always turn out the way you want them to.
When I was 8 I asked my mom if I could go to the Natural Museum of Science and she said yes. The day came and we were going to go, but my mom said that we HAD to go to the grocery store. I threw a fit because the Museum of Science was my favorite place in the world. My mom got mad so like any mom would do she sent me to my room. I still kept crying and throwing a fit. then my mom came in and she yelled, "You don't always get things and when you do they don't always turn out the way you want them to."

My Hobby

I have lots of hobbies, but my favorite one is snowboarding because even though were in Houston I think its amazing. I like it because when I'm going fast down a mountain I feel free. I love going in the parks because I like watching other people and trying to do tricks like them. Also because once I do something new it gives me confidence that I can do it again. It teaches me to take chances so, I think it will help when I get older.

Info on Topic

Dyslexia is a language based learning disability that is related to dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Of people with poor reading 70 to 80% are probably dyslexic. Below 1/3 of kids with reading disabilities have dyslexia and get school services.
Dysgraphia is deficiency in the ability to write. Dyscalculia is like dyslexia but with math.
It is a learning disability not a mental disability. It makes it very hard for a student who has dyslexia. It makes it hard to spell, wright, and pronouncing words.
Some causes are well people haven't really found out what it is but most people think it's just the way the brain develops and functions. Another reason is people with dyslexia have problems learning how letters represent those sounds.
About 85% of students with LD students have dyslexia. In a dyslexics life school is one of the hardest times.
    Some famous dislexics are:
Steve Jobbs
John Erving
John Lennon
Jay Leno
Ozzy Ozbourne
Picasso
Rex Ryan
Charles Schwab
Orlando Bloom
Tom Cruise
Leonardo De Venci
Thomas Edison
Alexander Gram Bell

My Value

I value friends because friends make you happy. When your mad and you don't want to tell your parents then you tell your friends. That is one good thing about them, but another good thing about them is you can tell them anything you want and you could express yourself in front of them.
I value family because they comfort you, but if you hate your sibling or hate your parents don't because they're like you stuck to a wall of cement you cant get rid of them. Another reason I value families is because they hep you with a lot of things. Just imagine if you didn't have a family.

Special Item

I got my very special item when I was 6.
My parents were going to New Orleans for about 2 weeks and I was mad because when I was young I couldn't spend a day without my parents or else I wouldn't make it.
My mom knew I would be sad so she gave me this big stuffed monkey that was as soft as a bunny. I named him hershey because of course he was brown.
The reason she gave it to me was to think of it as them. I slept with him for the 2 weeks my parents were gone. When the 2 weeks were over they came back. I was happy to see them, but I had to thank them for the monkey.
That is how I got my very special item.

Topic

We really wanted to do dyslexia because we waited dyslexic kids to have the same educational experience as all of the other kids do.
We were going to help by getting the lower 20% students in 2nd grade in reading because 70-80% of them have dyslexia.
We were also going to inform people about it because a lot of people think it is a little thing but its not.
